1 dead and 6 injured in North Lake Shore shooting on Saturday

Albany Police are investigating a shooting on North Lake Avenue that left several injured and one dead late Saturday night.

Officers say they responded to the 100 block of North Lake Avenue near Elk Street around 10:50 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located at the scene Alexander Bolton, 29, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Shortly after, Albany Medical informed police that six men had entered the emergency room with gunshot wounds:

  • 25 years old with a gunshot wound to the shoulder
  • 26 years old, gunshot wound to the shoulder
  • 28 years old with a gunshot wound to his arm
  • 31 year old with a gunshot wound to his shoulder
  • 37 years old, gunshot wound in the leg
  • 42 years old with a gunshot wound to his arm

Officials say the investigation determined that all six victims were shot in the same incident on North Lake Avenue. All were treated with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Bolton was treated on site by EMS personnel and transported to Albany Medicall where he later died.
