4 injured, including 2 officers, in the fire in an apartment overlooking the lake

CHICAGO – Two Lake View residents and two Chicago police officers were hospitalized after a fire broke out on Lake Shore Drive on Saturday, firefighters said. The firefighters arrived on site around noon.

The fire started on the fifth floor of an apartment building in the 3300 block of North Lake Shore Drive, authorities said.

Two people, whose ages were not known, were taken to hospitals in the area in serious and critical condition, firefighters said. Both agents were listed in good condition.

It took firefighters about an hour to put out the blaze, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

An investigation into the causes of the fire was underway.
