Athena Resources (AHN) has obtained high grade graphite results after initial drilling at the Milly Milly target area in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

The drilling was carried out in three target areas of the Milly Milly intrusion, based on the coincidence of a moving loop transient electromagnetic (MLTEM) survey conductor, gravity anomaly, aeromagnetic data and d elements of geochemical trajectory research.

A reverse circulation drilling campaign was completed in October, for a total of seven holes and 1148 meters of drilling.

Zone 2 graphite intersections included three meters at 4.83% carbon from 102 meters, including one meter at 13.02% carbon from 103 meters.

Meanwhile, the discovery of the new set of potential rock types has been found near the recently refined gravity anomaly in Zone 2 at Milly Milly.

The new set includes felsic-intermediate and ultramafic rock types. The sequence was not directly associated with the main Milly Milly intrusion and may represent an eruptive sequence.

Shares of Athena Resources closed down 0.9 cents.
