‘Blue Mountainya’ new name for proposed Watauga Lake resort | WJHL


CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The name of a new resort being built on Watauga Lake near Butler has been revealed.

According to a press release, the station will be called Blue Mountainya.

Plans for the resort include “farm-to-fork” restaurants, a wedding venue, and accommodations.

The name was suggested by Anastasia Goodhall, wife of Daniel Goodhall, the resort’s developer. According to the release, they “determined this would be the signature name their family business needed to convey their message and purpose to the public.”

“We are very pleased with the name Blue Mountanya for our family resort located here on Watauga Lake,” said Daniel Goodhall.

Information about the resort’s Holiday Extravaganza has also been released.

It will start on December 6 and will continue until December 22

“This special event gives families the opportunity to come and experience Blue Mountanya in its natural splendor while showcasing a taste of what it will offer the public as a resort itself,” the statement read.

“We plan to put on an extensive light show that will take visitors to the top of one of our ridges which offers stunning views of Watauga Lake and the Appalachian Mountains,” Mr. Goodhall said.

There will also be live bands on the weekends, a coffee bar featuring Blue Montanya’s special mix of coffee, food, kids crafts, tree farm and outdoor Christmas movies. Santa Claus will also be available for photos.
