Pasadena, MD – Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to a possible garage fire, reported in the 100 block of Woods Way, Chelsea Beach, MD.
The early afternoon fire occurred around 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021, when 911 calls reported heavy smoke and a fire originating from a large detached garage. Fire crews were dispatched sending out a full alarm. Units arrived reporting heavy smoke coming from all sides of a 30×50 garage structure. A working fire was declared, dispatching more than 20 fire units in total to put out the fire.
Neighbors say the owner was not in the area at the time of the fire. Several would have tried to call the owner to inform him of the fire. A sign in front of the garage displayed “Auto Detailing” as the type of work being done.
Firefighters say the blaze is still under investigation. Due to the large diameter fire hose on the street, Anne Arundel County Police responded for traffic control. No damage was reported in the neighboring house, located behind the garage.
It took firefighters 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. The commercial garage appeared to be a total loss. No dollar amounts were immediately available.
