Espire Hospitality Group has unveiled its new property ZANA Lake Resort, Udaipur, which is the group’s first resort under its new brand, ZANA – Luxury Escapes. The company said the launch marks the group’s entry into India’s luxury boutique hotel market.

Akhil Arora, chief operating officer of Espire Hospitality Group, said Udaipur was the “perfect” location for the launch and the company will launch another ZANA resort in Ranthambore during this calendar year on December 1.

Another ZANA property on a greenfield project in Goa will open in early 2024, in addition to a property in Darbargadh which is expected to open in January 2023. The company is also converting an existing Country Inn property into a ZANA resort and is investing Rs 45 crore on this. The refurbished and converted ZANA in Corbett is scheduled to open in October 2023.

“There’s a common thread running through these properties. In addition to being places of recreation, they’re all experiential properties,” Arora said. “We have created something very different for the Indian market. The brand has a European look and feel. We have a cap where ZANA properties do not cross 40 rooms. The idea is to have a very personalized service, and we are aware of the size of the rooms,” he added.

He said the company’s mid-market resort chain, Country Inn Hotels and Resorts, was doing extremely well and the April-June quarter saw revenue growth of 200% over the April quarter. ‘April-June 2019. “Our ARRs were 45% higher in April-June this year compared to April-June 2019. We saw a natural drop in demand due to the monsoon, but business resume now,” he added.

The company will open a select-service Country Inn Express hotel in Udaipur, and a Country Inn property in Dehradun will open in January 2023. Another premium version of the brand called Country Inn Premier will be launched in Dharmshala in February 2023.

The company previously told ET that it will have 11 hotels and operating resorts across all brands by the end of 2022 and should be able to reach its target of 20 hotels and operating resorts in India by 2023.
