Gardiner demolition means part of Lake Shore East Boulevard will be closed this weekend – Beach Metro Community News

As demolition work on the Gardiner Expressway east ramps continues, Lake Shore East Boulevard will be closed from Carlaw Avenue to Cherry Street this weekend.

Ramps to the Gardiner were permanently closed August 31 from east of Don Valley Parkway at their start and end near Logan Avenue. The ramps are being demolished and Lake Shore Boulevard East is being reengineered as part of the work being done on the weekends of September and October.

The demolition of the ramps is part of the Gardiner Highway reclamation plan and the Port Lands flood protection project.

This weekend will be closed from 6 a.m. on Saturday, September 25 until 6 a.m. on Monday, September 27.

Due to ongoing work on the Gardiner Ramps, the ActiveTO closure will no longer occur in the eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard East between Woodbine Avenue and Leslie Street.

However, Bayview Avenue between Rosedale Valley Road and Lawren Harris Square will be closed for ActiveTO from 6 a.m. on September 25 to 9 p.m. on September 26.

Additionally, as part of this weekend’s ActiveTO, the eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard West between Stadium Road and Windermere Avenue will be closed on Sunday, September 26 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. #Show Love TO event in parks and green spaces adjacent to the closed area of ​​Lake Shore Boulevard West from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
