Sydney, September 19, 2022 AEST (ABN Newswire) – Lake Resources NL (ASX: LKE) (LK1:ENG) (LLKKF:OTCMKTS) advises that work is continuing with Lilac Solutions, Inc. (Lilac) at the Kachi project site in Argentina, with commissioning underway at the demonstration plant.
While on September 14, 2022, Lake issued a notice of dispute under its agreement with Lilac, with respect to certain completion times (dispute), Lake wishes to advise that work in progress is being carried out by Lilac on the project Kachi and that all parties are confident that site operations will be successful.
Lake confirms that construction of the facility to house the Lilac demonstration plant is now complete.
Dry commissioning of the demonstration plant began on Wednesday 14 September.
Lilac informed Lake that, subject to the completion of dry commissioning, it plans to begin wet commissioning of the plant on September 22; Upon completion of wet commissioning, Lilac plans to begin on-site treatment of Kachi brines in the first week of October.
While the test program is based on running the demonstration plant for 1000 hours, it is expected that the first 2000 liters of lithium concentrate produced from the demonstration plant will be sent to be converted into sodium carbonate. lithium when delivered. Lake proposes that this final lithium product is then qualified by a Tier 1 battery manufacturer to validate product specifications.
Lake will continue to update the market on the Kachi project, the dispute and, as demonstration test work continues, progress, timelines, milestones and results.
Lake confirms that severance discussions continue to progress and that new appointments to Lake’s board of directors are in the final stages of consideration.
