Lake Resources NL Provides Kachi Project Contract Update

Sydney, Australia (ABN Newswire) – Clean lithium developer Lake Resources NL (ASX:LKE) (FRA:LK1) (OTCMKTS:LLKKF) is pleased to provide an update on the progress of the processing of lithium from the Kachi project.

The completion of the construction of the on-site demonstration plant and the wet and dry commissioning process took place in September and October.

The demonstration plant is currently processing Kachi brines and final process optimization is nearing completion.

Lilac Solutions Executive Vice President Bart Packer visited Kachi on site to oversee final plant adjustments to ensure processes are optimized before continuous processing begins.

“Initial demonstration plant operations have already delivered product to specification, with the demonstration plant achieving lithium recoveries similar to those obtained in the pilot plant test work in Oakland, California.

“Optimization work continues at the site; Lilac expects the first lithium chloride samples to be shipped for conversion to lithium carbonate within two weeks.”

Lake proposes that this final lithium product is then qualified by a Tier 1 battery manufacturer to validate product specifications.

Lilac CEO David Snydacker said these excellent early results validate Lilac’s ability to rapidly scale up lithium production at the Kachi site.

“Just one month into wet commissioning, we are already recovering 80% of the lithium even as we complete the commissioning process and increase recoveries.

“Kudos to our field operations team who worked 24/7 to achieve these results in partnership with the fantastic team at Lake Resource in Kachi.

“We are excited to expand our collaboration with the Lake team as we work to accelerate commercial-scale production of lithium carbonate,” he said.

Lake CEO David Dickson said Lake was pleased to see early test results meeting the expected specifications.

“This validates the many years of test work that took place at Lilac’s facilities in Oakland during Covid when access to the site was impossible.

“We look forward to seeing the test work move to a stable state and then have the process validated by Hatch so work on the DFS can be completed.”

Mr Dickson said that every resource project in the construction phase around the world had faced inevitable challenges of late and he was delighted to see the lake and lilac teams in Argentina working closely together to overcoming early construction challenges and now delivering excellent results from the initial work completed. on Kachi brines.

Lake Executive Chairman Stu Crow said Lilac’s high-purity lithium production method will disrupt the battery materials supply industry because it is scalable, low cost and delivers consistent product quality. with a significant ESG advantage.

“The news of the successful results from the demonstration plant comes at a good time, as the full Lake Resources board is in Sydney to attend the IMARC conference this week to meet and welcome a strong delegation of representatives Argentine federal and provincial governments and departments, as well as continuing discussions with international partners and domestic investment banks and capital market players who have helped Lake develop its strategy as the company moves toward a financial investment decision (FID) in 2023,” he said.

As noted in the September quarterly report, Lake intends to make several new management and board appointments before the end of the year as it transitions from an exploration company to a development and production company.
