Lake Resources NL (ASX: LKE) (OTCMKTS: LLKKF) is stepping up development activities at its Kachi Lithium Brine project in Argentina with shallow drill tests starting shortly.

The company’s ambition is to sustainably produce the cleanest quality lithium carbonate on a large scale for use in the rapidly growing battery market and this work program will help in that regard.

Geotechnical study in progress

A geotechnical study of the site where the pilot plant / direct lithium extraction demonstration plant will be located is underway according to COVID-19 protocols.

The study will be carried out by qualified local consultants from Catamarca and the data will be fed into the Final Feasibility Study (DFS).

Shallow drilling trials will begin shortly as part of this study.

With the interpreted geophysical results, shallow water wells up to 60 meters deep will be drilled for the DFS.

Drilling contracts for geotechnical and hydraulic drilling are being finalized for mobilization on the site.

Lake Resources is well funded

A geophysical program that has been underway for nearly two months is almost complete and will help with the positioning of the brine test holes.

The last three lines of passive seismic geophysics data are being collected and analyzed to improve data quality.

Lake Resources is well funded and these activities, while important, are not major expense items.

Updates on other activities with samples in the US will be provided soon and the company confirms that the program with Hazen is on-going and moving forward on plan and on schedule.

The goal is to produce and deliver bulk samples of similar quality and purity to Novonix for further testing and analysis for third parties.
