A growing campaign retreat is looking to make changes following visitor feedback.
Fritton Lake Resort, part of the Somerleyton estate, is asking planners if it can redesign some of its approved new buildings.
He wants to operate a slightly larger, but lower, two-part bar and restaurant, and also adjust his changing rooms and pool buildings and build them out of natural wood.
The claimant says the changes are landscape-focused and will include flat, planted roofs that will make the most of lake views.
Documents supporting the bid say the private resort employs 25 people, with an expansion likely to bring 16 more jobs.
Improvements already made include a new swimming pool and tennis courts.
A new adventure play area, a second restaurant and a bar serving food all day by the pool are proposed as well as an increase in the number of cabins, currently at 90.
Fritton Lake, once a popular daytime attraction with a fun fort and jumping pillow, bills itself as a “luxury escape.”
