Ragusa Minerals (RAS) has identified four historic gold and copper prospects as priority exploration targets for its 2022 program at its Monte Cristo gold project in Alaska.

The company completed a desk study which was conducted to determine mineral prospectivity in relation to nearby gold discoveries made by Nova Minerals (NVA) and GoldMining.

The project review outlined a proposed exploration program that will begin with geochemical sampling and a drone magnetic survey.

Ragusa is proposed to collect 1,500 samples, target iron and carbonate stained mountainsides, and conduct extensive geological mapping throughout the project.

At the Monte Cristo prospect, the main targets identified were large gold and copper-gold porphyry intrusions, with gold mineralization hosted in highly altered Paleocene volcaniclastic and intrusive rocks.

The mineralized zones occur in two parallel ridges separated by approximately 300 meters of shallow cover of glacial debris.

Regional airborne magnetic survey data indicate long-wavelength anomalies trending southwest to northeast.

At the St Eugene prospect, the review highlighted gold and copper mineralization occurring in three distinct zones, the largest being 700 meters along strike.

President Jerko Zuvela said this was an important milestone for the company.

“This is an important milestone for our Monte Cristo project – with planning work progressing well for this year’s exploration campaign, with multiple priority targets identified with positive historical results,” it said. -he declares.

“We look forward to determining the mineral prospectivity of our project area, especially with the exciting multi-million ounce gold discoveries surrounding us.”
