LOS ANGELES – A to manage is safe in a paddock after leading authorities on a chase along the highway, through a parking lot and into a local yard Wednesday afternoon.
Management has made its way down the 210 freeway in the Lake view terrace area shortly after noon on Wednesday. SkyFOX was live on stage as Animal Control and California Highway Patrol worked to bring the animal to safety.
After trotting down the highway, at least five vehicles helped lock the animal up an exit ramp, then eventually under a bridge and into a nearby parking lot. An official was seen with what looked like a lasso or some kind of rope as authorities tried to apprehend the animal.
After several minutes stuck in the parking lot, the steer was able to escape, climb a flight of stairs and return to the road.
Rafael Ortega and his brother Daniel Ortega were two of the men who ended up tying up the animal after it forced its way into a nearby lawn. They came from their nearby feedlot to help. Rafael called it, “one hell of a time”. Questions remain as to exactly how the management broke away. Rafael says he believes a truck driver broke down on the freeway and someone opened the door latch. Authorities have not confirmed if that is what happened, however.
Rafael, however, says ‘the management is in good hands’ on Wednesday night.
