Steven Pinchback to coach San Angelo Lake View women’s basketball


Steven Pinchback has been named the new head coach of women’s basketball and assistant athletic coordinator at San Angelo Lake View High School.

Pinchback, a Lake View graduate, returns home with 15 years of classroom teaching and training experience and served as an assistant athletic coordinator for a Class 6A school district.

“I am extremely honored and touched for this opportunity,” said Pinchback. “It’s time to bring a champion mindset to Lake View High School.”

“It always brings us great pride when a former ISD San ​​Angelo graduate returns to give back to the district in which he himself grew up,” said Dr Farrah Gomez, deputy superintendent of human resources and professional learning.

Pinchback recently served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at San Marcos High School since 2019. Prior to serving at San Marcos CISD, Pinchback was the Assistant Athletic Coordinator / Head Coach of Boys Basketball at Lehman high school.

Pinchback was an assistant for three years at DeSoto ISD and was part of a state titled team in 2016. He also spent eight years at McCowan Middle School in the DeSoto School District.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Pinchback to his native San Angelo and Lake View community roots,” said Rodney Chant, SAISD Executive Director of Athletics. “Coach Pinchback’s passion and desire to put Lake View High School on the map is something that sets him apart.”

Pinchback inherits a Lake View team that went 7-17 overall last year with a 0-10 rating in district play.
